Event: Paris Roubaix Challenge 139Km Sportive
Date: 8th & 11th April 2016
The Paris Roubaix is one of the oldest and toughest one day bike races in the world. This year the Black Cat Cycling Club are going to take on 139KM sportive course the day before the pros race over the same cobbles.
Friday 8th April
Arrive in Lille & prepare for Saturday morning.
Saturday 9th April
Ride 139km sportive – this covers 18 of the famous cobbled sections and much of the same route as the pro’s will ride.
This is the course:
Total climbing: 775 m
Total descent: -776 m
Sunday 10th April
Watch the professionals race across the same cobbles & sample local refreshments!
Monday 11th April
The Black Cat Cycling Club has been registered as a group with the organisers, this entitles us to a 5 Euro discount on the entry fee, In order to secure this discount, Colin Irving needs to collect £30.00 off everyone who wants to participate – before 31st January.
- £30 entry fee for Sportive
- P&O currently offering return ferry for car plus 2 passengers for £99, slight increase for more passengers
- Ibis Lille Centre Garre have double rooms for 3 nights for £140 per double not per person!
So essentially, for a competitor it would be a £150 trip & £120 for non competitor plus fuel. – Ferry and hotel need to be booked individually, links to follow.
